I SHALL COME TO ASK FOR…THE COMMUNION OF REPARATION ON THE FIRST SATURDAYS”

THE FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTION

At Fatima, during the apparition of July 13th, 1917, the three visionaries were shown a vision of Hell. Our Lady told the visionaries that ‘I shall come to ask for …the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays’. As promised, Our Lady came to request the Reparation of First Saturdays eight years later, in 1925, when Lucia was 18 years old and now a postulant in a convent at Pontevedra, Spain.

The First Saturday devotion is a crucial part of the message of Fatima and Our Lady’s plan for peace in the world.

Our Lady came to Lucia with the Child Jesus and asked us to do 4 things, for 5 consecutive months, with the intention of making Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary:

– To Confess one’s sins to a priest (within 8 days before or after)
– To Receive Holy Communion
– To Recite at least 5 decades of the Rosary
– And to keep Our Lady company for 15 minutes while meditating on the 15 mysteries of the Holy Rosary.

FIRST SATURDAY MEDITATION

What does it mean to meditate on the mysteries of the rosary? For many people, this is the most confusing or difficult part. It’s actually something quite doable. It means spending 15 minutes with Our Lady thinking about, in a prayerful way that opens your soul to God’s graces, some of the mysteries of the rosary. This doesn’t require meditating on all 15 mysteries in one go during the 15 minutes meditation; it can be 1 mystery or more.

Join Fr. Pillari every First Saturday for the next 15 months where he will guide you through 15 minutes of prayer on each of the mysteries of the Holy Rosary. Watch our 2 introductory videos to find out more about the history of the First Saturday devotion and the method of meditation that Fr. Pillari will use.
